We traveled to the site/area where Joseph Smith and Emma Hale eloped. I still find it crazy that I am actually on the eastern side of the country, walking where Joseph and Emma walked. I got to learn about the Colesville Branch and now when I read D & C, I have a picture in my mind of every time the Colesville Branch is mentioned. We saw Joseph Knight Sr.'s home and it is in this area that the first miracle of the church happened. (Colesville Branch is the first branch of the church. Hyrum will be sent up here to lead the saints)
Later on that day we went to the Priesthood restoration site by the Susquehanna River (which is gorgeous) in Harmony PA which also includes Isaac and Elizabeth Hale's home and one of the homes that Joseph and Emma lived in. We were also able to visit the graveyard where Emma's parents and Emma and Joseph's first son, Alvin, are buried. Seeing baby Alvin's headstone really brought the reality of Joseph and Emma's hardships.
Tonight we stayed at a pretty sketchy hotel....it smelled absolutely awful! And the door to my room would not stay closed. You close it and if you just barely touch it, it opens!

| This is a replica of the box that Joseph used to haul around the plates...it had stuff in it to make it weigh over 50 lbs. I could barely pick it up! I do not know how Joseph was able to run with it. |
