I am insanely behind on journaling my experiences here in Nauvoo. (I have been so busy, I haven't given myself enough time to write) For now I will just write about today.
This week we will be helping the archeology department from BYU dig, and reorganize artifacts.
Today I was assigned to help with the digging of the Stephen Markham home. It took forever for us to get started, and it took me a while to find a way that I could actually help. I did best sifting through the dirt. I found an old nail with a square head, an old bolt, and an animal bone.
Later on we went to Nauvoo State park to play baseball. It took me like a week to recover the last time I played ball so I sat and talked with Amber and Tiffany. The plan was to do our homework but that did not happen. Eventually the Manscills came and Jana sat with us. We told her how we got in trouble with 1 of the 3 Nauvoo cops last night (last night I wanted to look at stars so we took the bench from off of our porch and put it on the road behind our van. It was really fun, until the cop told us to go on the side walk. I know it is usually not safe to chill in the road but it was 11:30 at night in deserted Nauvoo. He was the only car we saw. Anyways it was a fun experience)
After this we went and had a bonfire. I probably was not dressed appropriately to protect myself from the bugs. I'm pretty sure I got bit by several mosquitoes. Nauvoo has reinforced my hatred of bugs.
I hope that tomorrow I will have time to write about everything else I have done in Nauvoo so far.
